What to see in France

Domaine de La Bourbansais

Since 1965, Pleugueneuc in Brittany, between Rennes and Saint-Malo, on the grounds of the Château de La Bourbansais, has been home to a zoo with four hundred animals from forty different species.

Visit the Bourbansais zoo during your camping holiday

Siberian tigers, panthers, giraffes and lynxes can be observed in a unique, calm and green setting of about ten hectares. The zoo participates in five breeding and conservation programmes for endangered species. Several activities such as the "pack show" and the "falconry show" are offered to visitors and showcase the skills of both men and animals. A visit to the castle, built in the 15th century and enlarged in the 18th century, its well-preserved flats and its gardens, which can be visited with a guide in the manner of the "king's vegetable garden" at Versailles, brings the day to a pleasant close. In short, a park that is both educational and entertaining, which makes for a very pleasant family outing.
