What is the average price of a mobile home at a campsite?
Rates according to the number of stars
The number of stars awarded to a campsite has a major impact on prices.
- At a 1-star campsite, you can rent a mobile home for between 330€ and 730€ per week in high season.
- In a 4 or 5-star campsite, by the sea for example, prices will average 1,330€ per week, especially if the accommodation is fully equipped.
On average, mobile home rental costs €970 per week in high season.
The difference in price between coastal and inland campsites
- Campsites by the sea, particularly in tourist departments such as Loire-Atlantique or Pyrénées-Orientales, charge higher prices.
- Conversely, a campsite inland, such as in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, often offers more affordable mobile home rentals.
The different types of campsite rental
Standard mobile home rental
The classic mobile home (often for 4 people) is the most popular. The average rental price is between €650 and €850 in high season, depending on location and comfort.
Camping bungalow rental
Canvas bungalows are a more economical alternative, with prices between €400 and €700 per week in July and August. An ideal solution for family holidays on a budget.
Mobile home rental for 6 people
The more spacious 6-person mobile homes generally cost a little more than the standard models. The price will depend on the level of equipment and the campsite.
Cheap mobile home rental for 2 people
Outside the high season, as in May, it is sometimes possible to rent a 2-person mobile home at a reduced price, particularly at 1 or 2-star campsites.
How much does a night in a mobile home cost?
Rates per night
Although weekly rentals are the most common, some campsites also offer nightly rentals, especially in low season. As for the nightly rates, these depend very much on the period and the standing of the campsite.
Mobile home rental 2 nights
Short breaks of 2 nights are available at some campsites, particularly in low and mid-season, at special rates. This is an ideal option for a weekend away.
Mobile home rental for a weekend
If you're looking for a weekend camping break, some offers include special 2- or 3-night packages at a reduced price, particularly outside peak periods such as July and August.

Services and options that influence price
Campsite pitch
A mobile home in a good location on the campsite (sea view, close to amenities, shady pitch, etc.) is often offered at a higher price.
Mobile home equipment
Air conditioning, a covered terrace, garden furniture, a dishwasher and several bathrooms can all add to the rental price (not to mention the private Jacuzzi that some luxury mobile homes come with).
Services included and extra
Some services are included in the price, others are extra, such as :
- Bed linen and towels ;
- Cleaning at the end of your stay ;
- Access to certain activities or children's clubs.
Tourist tax and other charges
Don't forget the tourist tax, often charged at between €0.20 and €1.50 per adult per night. There may also be a supplement for pets (often €3 to €6 per day), or a charge for an extra car if the campsite only provides one pitch per mobile home.
