What to see in France

Branféré Wildlife and Botanical Park: a nature destination to enjoy all year round

Located between Vannes and Rennes, in the heart of Morbihan (Brittany), Branféré Wildlife and Botanical Park is a destination that deserves a top spot on your list of nature outings. Spanning 45 hectares of forest, meadows and gardens, over 1,500 animals living in semi-freedom await you, representing 195 species from five continents. A far cry from traditional zoos, Branféré harmoniously combines animal observation, botanical discovery, fun activities and conservation awareness.

Each season brings its own share of excitement and discoveries, making Branféré a place to explore all year round.

🌍 A diverse range of animals to discover

Branféré’s great strength lies in its ability to bring together wildlife and freedom of expression. Tigers, cheetahs, lemurs, penguins, macaws, pelicans, tapirs and even white-nosed coatis roam in vast spaces designed to respect their natural needs. The park is organised into large themed zones, allowing visitors to travel the world without leaving Brittany and to move from one continent to another in just a few steps.

  • South American zone: tapirs, peccaries, white-nosed coatis, giant anteaters and capybaras. The enclosures promote the animals’ well-being and natural behaviour, and certain species are monitored as part of ethological studies.

  • Asian Zone: Sumatran tigers, red pandas and lemurs.
  • European zones: deer, fallow deer and wild boar roam in semi-freedom, visible from the footpaths or on a drive-through safari.
  • Educational mini-farm: sheep, goats and chickens allow younger visitors to get up close to the animals and discover life on the farm.
