Terra Botanica, Maine-et-Loire : embark on a sensory journey !

 

The first European theme park to focus on the world of plants and biodiversity, Terra Botanica offers visitors the chance to discover the vegetation of a dozen countries from all continents... while remaining in France. A change of scenery guaranteed. Located in the city of Angers, the park aims to highlight the Anjou region and its know-how through botany and horticulture.

A unique experience at Terra Botanica, to be discovered during your camping stay

Young and old alike will discover five unique universes, and several dozen themed gardens with animations, shows and other attractions.

The Great Explorations tells the story of the discovery of plants, including one of the largest tropical greenhouses in Europe, thousands of plant species from Vietnam, the Amazon, New Zealand and elsewhere.

The origins of life takes the visitor back to the primary era with the appearance of the first plants... and dinosaurs. The mysteries of life must be unravelled in the hostile and mysterious nature of the Roots of Life.

Unusual plants: an adventure into the heart of carnivorous plants and plants of extreme climates. Blow away the cold and the heat, with the Cold Greenhouse and its imposing wall of ice, or the Mist Greenhouse and its 2000 species of orchids.

Escapade en Anjou boat trip in a brand new rose garden, to relive the plant odyssey of Anjou.

Les Mystères de la Forêt (The Mysteries of the Forest) in a unique sensory journey, the mission is to explore the 7000 m² dedicated to the secrets of trees and forests.

Terra Botanica the event not to be missed

From 1 April, the park's opening day, a dozen new extraordinary animals will join the plant bestiary. Discover animal biodiversity in a playful and artistic way. This year's great novelty is the Bird Canopy, which extends over 5,000m² and will be installed at the beginning of June in the world of the Forest Mysteries and will integrate "Terra Nocta" from 14 July. At nightfall, you will experience the Plant Odyssey in a magical and poetic nocturnal journey. You will plunge into the heart of the World Tree: from the incandescent roots to the fluorescent leaves, in an interactive and sensory wander.

Through an edutainment trail of almost one kilometre, this place will take you on a journey of discovery of birds by mobilising our senses thanks in particular to augmented reality. This new space highlights the diversity of the 600 species of birds present in France, such as the Bullfinch, the European Kingfisher, the Goldfinch and the European Starling, etc.

Terra Spring on 25 and 26 March: the orchid in the spotlight

This year, Terra Botanica will host the largest plant market in the region. About a hundred exhibitors are expected. And this year, the orchid is in the spotlight, the Terra Botanica teams will be there to help you find the flower that will make you happy.

Practical information:

Terra Botanica is open from 1 April to 31 August from 10am to 6pm and until 7pm on certain days.

Autumn Festival: 7 October to 5 November from 10am to 6pm.
