Visit the palace of the kings of Majorca during your camping holiday

Located in the heart of Perpignan, which it dominates from a high promontory, this superb medieval palace was the centre of the kingdom of Majorca for almost a century.

At the time, there was no building worthy of housing the Majorcan court, so a palace was built. Its military architecture in the Gothic style is organised around a court of honour, a courtroom, a chapel reminiscent of the very religious character of the Spanish kings, and royal flats. Decorated in the Majorcan style, the walls are polychrome, alternating sandstone, ashlar and red, white and blue marble. It is one of the most beautiful palaces of its kind and was often used in the defence of the city during the Franco-Spanish wars in the sixteenth century.

The team of guides at the Palace of the Kings of Majorca regularly offer guided tours of the gardens and the main courtyard (registration on site, no extra charge).
