Fabre Museum in Montpellier

The Fabre Museum is the main art museum in Montpellier and one of the most important provincial museums in France. Created in 1928 following a donation of Baron Fabre's collections to the city, it is a certified French museum.

Visit the Fabre museum during your camping holiday

The Fabre Museum offers a fine collection of paintings and sculptures by Flemish, Italian and French artists from the 15th to the 19th century. Several circuits are organised to facilitate the visit. The first one presents romanticism, orientalism and impressionism. Another tour, on the theme of decorative arts, allows visitors to admire a Napoleon III style residence and 19th century furniture. A room pays tribute to the Fabre and Valedau donors and the Museum's graphic arts cabinet - one of the richest in Europe - presents four thousand drawings and prints dating from the Italian Renaissance to the 20th century. To offer the public full access to the works, cultural mediation workshops, a multimedia space and interpretation rooms have been set up.
