History of world war II: Two must-sees in Caen

To visit the Caen Memorial, located in Caen in Normandy, plan a full day.

Visit the Caen Memorial during your camping holiday

The Caen Memorial is a gigantic 4,500 m2 museum dedicated to the history of the Second World War, from the D-Day landings to the bombing of Caen. The Memorial also tells the story of the 20th century in a broader sense. Very complete, it is a museum dedicated to peace and a symbol of the history of Normandy.

On the green side, the Colline aux Oiseaux, near the Memorial, is a large flowered park of 17 hectares. It offers numerous thematic gardens and a magnificent rose garden. It is open all year round (except on 25 December and 1 January) and admission is free. Guided tours are also available.
