Since its creation in 1925, the French Open is the most important tennis tournament on clay. It is also one of the four Grand Slam tournaments and the second after the Australian Open which takes place in January. It has been held in Paris since 1928 and this year it will be held between 16 May and 5 June. Camping remains a good choice for comfortable accommodation during your stay in Ile-de-France.

For its 121st edition, the Roland Garros tennis tournament will take place from 16 May to 5 June 2022 with a few new features. Previously shared in part by Eurosport, the broadcasting rights will this year be held by Amazon Prime, which will only broadcast the matches played on the Simonne-Mathieu court as well as those taking place in the evening. The daytime matches will still be broadcast on the public service. A 10-point tie-break will be played in the last set in case of a 6-6 score and will be part of the new rules. Another new feature will be the installation of lighted panels on the sides of the courts to showcase the arrival of the players. Finally, Louise Sartor is the second French artist to design the poster for the French internationals. She represents a ball boy, one of the pride of Roland Garros. It is a beautiful 2022 vintage with the colours of the clay court and filled with the reflections of the sun.

All tennis lovers know that the precise schedule is difficult to follow and is likely to be modified according to the weather. Unfortunately, the vagaries of the weather cannot be controlled. At Roland Garros, only the Philippe Chatrier court has a retractable roof and lighting to host evening matches. Moreover, if the organisers have control over the start time of a match, it is however complex to know when it will end.

Don't wait to book your campsite!
