Taking its name from the Vosges massif, which occupies a large part of the territory, the Vosges is part of the Grand Est region. The third most wooded department in France, it seduces nature lovers with its mountain landscapes, its lakes and bodies of water and the most beautiful forests in Europe whose benefits must be discovered. An area that will undoubtedly charm camping enthusiasts!

Whether you are there in winter or in summer, the department offers 78 campsites in the Vosges spread throughout the territory to enable you to spend a relaxing holiday easily and without constraints. From five to two stars, with a swimming pool or on the edge of a lake, in a canvas bungalow or in a chalet with all the comforts, with or without entertainment, you choose according to your desires and those of your children.

Discover the Vosges

Gérardmer is a medium-sized mountain town known as the Pearl of the Vosges. It is known for its lake, the largest natural lake in the Vosges, and its winter sports resort La Mauselaine, which overlooks the lake. This is the kind of place you can enjoy all year round. In winter you can ski down the snowy slopes and enjoy the mountain snow, in summer the lake is there to cool off and enjoy water sports such as canoeing, pedal boats and fishing. But you can also enjoy the lake in the cold season, as ice skating is also possible.

In the heart of the Vosges mountains and at an altitude of 635 metres, the commune of La Bresse is located less than 15 kilometres from Gerardmer. You can discover the Lispach lake, which you can walk around thanks to a path marked out with information panels. But also La Bresse-Hohneck, the most extensive ski area in the Vosges massif and in the North East of France. Even higher, at an altitude of 890 metres, is the Lac des Corbeaux, a lake full of fish, but swimming is not supervised, and scuba diving is also practised there. Around the Blanchemer lake, which is at an altitude of almost 1000 metres, there is a footpath which allows you to walk around the lake.

The capital of the Vosges and of imagery, Epinal is the most wooded town in France. Filled with green spaces, the town is also crossed by the Canal des Vosges and the Moselle and invites you to go for a walk, whether on horseback, on foot or by bike to explore the banks of the Moselle, the medieval ramparts and the pretty coloured facades of the houses. The Saint Maurice basilica and the ruins of the Epinal castle which dominate the town are part of the heritage. For culture, the departmental museum of ancient and contemporary art is the main museum of Epinal and the Musée de l'Image where one of the most important collections of popular images since the 18th century is kept.

The superb protected territory of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park extends over Alsace, Franche-Comté and Lorraine and four departments including the Vosges. It is a real string of rounded balloons, mountain landscapes and high altitude pastures. The park also contains a nugget, the large ridge that forms the Hautes-Vosges. Here you will find an abundance of fauna and flora. Lakes, streams, forests of beech, oak and fir trees as well as deer, lynx, peregrine falcons, medicinal plants and flowers make up the bulk of these natural landscapes. They can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback, and in winter with snowshoes and skis. An exceptional site for nature lovers where you can find leisure activities for all, such as climbing with around thirty equipped sites, water sports on the lakes and lakes as well as fishing, via ferrata or even hang-gliding...
