The beaches at Lake of Les Deux Amants in Léry-Poses
Just 30 minutes from Rouen, Léry-Poses Park in Normandy is one of the region’s largest outdoor leisure areas. It covers 1,300 hectares, including 650 hectares of water spread across three lakes. Deux Amants lake (lake of the two lovers) is the park’s main swimming spot, with two designated beaches reserved for families and private visitors, where the water temperature usually reaches 25 to 28 °C in summer. Swimming is supervised at weekends in June, then every day in July and August from 11.00 am. Access to the beaches is free, but there is a charge for parking cars and minibuses.
Lagon Beach
The largest beach on Lac des Deux Amants, Lagon Beach is particularly popular with families for its vast stretch of sand and friendly atmosphere.
La Capoulade Beach
Also situated on the lake of Les Deux Amants, Capoulade Beach offers a more peaceful setting for swimming. Like Lagon Beach, it has lifeguards on duty during the season and welcomes families in a pleasant natural setting.
Children can also enjoy Aquajump, an inflatable play course set up on the water, available for an additional charge.

The Brionne Leisure Centre
Situated in the heart of the Risle Valley, the Brionne Leisure Centre is centred around a vast 22-hectare lake. With its sandy beach and designated swimming area – which is supervised every afternoon during the summer – it is a popular spot for families to cool off.
The site also offers a range of water sports, such as canoeing and kayaking, fun boats, stand-up paddleboarding, pedalos and fishing. Organised kayaking trips are also available, subject to prior booking, offering a unique way to explore the landscapes of the Risle Valley from the water.
The Domaine de la Noë leisure centre in La Bonneville-sur-Iton
Ten kilometres from Évreux, in the Pays de Conches, the Domaine de la Noë leisure centre covers a 24-hectare natural estate. Its lake, lined with a variety of tree species, offers a pleasant setting in which to relax or enjoy a day out with the family. Swimming is permitted on a designated, supervised beach every afternoon during the summer season.
The site also offers a range of water sports, such as canoeing, pedalos and stand-up paddleboarding. There is an admission charge to the leisure centre during the summer opening period.
The leisure centre is also notable for its historical heritage: it is built around the remains of the former Cistercian Abbey of La Noé, whose ruins lend a special charm to the landscape.
The natural swimming area at Rugles
In the south of the Eure department, the Rugles natural swimming area is Normandy’s only outdoor natural swimming pool. Free from chlorine and chemicals, its two pools are naturally filtered by aquatic plants, offering a natural alternative to traditional chlorinated swimming pools.
The site features a large 25-metre swimming pool, a smaller pool suitable for families, and a wooden sun deck and lawn, perfect for relaxing after a swim. This natural swimming area is open – and supervised – on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons during the summer season. There is an admission charge.
Due to the natural nature of the swimming area, opening times may be adjusted depending on water quality, and the site is limited to a maximum of 80 people. It is therefore recommended that you check the latest information before visiting.
Campsites in the Eure: make the most of the swimming spots
With around thirty campsites in the Eure, this Normandy department offers a range of accommodation options close to swimming spots. Some campsites provide easy access to the region’s beaches, lakes and leisure centres.
Among them, the Les Fontaines*** campsite in Ivry-la-Bataille enjoys a pleasant waterside setting, with an on-site pond where fishing enthusiasts can indulge their passion. Nearby, a range of water sports are also available, such as water skiing, pedalos and canoeing and kayaking.
The campsite is also an excellent base from which to explore various swimming spots in the Eure and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with the family by the water. From this campsite, it’s about 35 km to the Domaine de la Noë leisure centre in La Bonneville-sur-Iton and 50 km to the Brionne leisure centre.
