Enjoy a breathtaking landscape during your camping holiday in Seine-Maritime: the cliffs of Etretat.

Discover the cliffs of Etretat during your camping holiday

To contemplate the famous cliffs of Etretat, head for the eponymous pebble beach. The angle of view allows you to admire their well-cut shapes and their brilliant whiteness linked to the chalky material of the rock. You can see three arches, the Porte d'Amont, Porte d'Aval and Manneporte.

We linger at the curious Porte d'Aval, a cliff in the shape of an elephant's head with its trunk plunged into the sea.

A little further back, the Aiguille and its impressive height of fifty-one metres. On the other side of the Porte d'Aval, the monumental Manneporte. Did you know that these arches were made by an underground river whose bed dug into the cliff? They were not formed by marine erosion. When you admire them, you can easily understand why artists such as Courbet, Monet or Maupassant were inspired by this landscape for their works.

Don't hesitate to take the path that climbs the cliffs to overlook the ocean, and thus have a magnificent view of the Norman houses and the colourful boats of the fishermen of Etretat.
