29th Honey Festival in Mouans-Sarthoux

Ah! honey... this sweetness with many benefits and virtues, which we cannot do without. This foodstuff has accompanied the most ancient civilisations in their evolution and, from time immemorial, it has been associated with a rich symbolism, including that of being the substance of the gods, "celestial dew", such was its name in ancient Greece.

This year, the town of Mouans-Sarthoux invites you to discover the treasure of the beehive, during the 29th Honey Festival which will take place on Sunday 30 April. Entertainment and leisure activities will be on offer from 10 am to 7 pm, in the village squares, in the town hall and in the castle park.

For more than twenty years, the last Sunday in April has been the Festival of Honey. From the garrigue to the maquis, the honeys of Provence are characterised by their great diversity. Some are great classics (lavender, all flowers...), others more confidential (savory, arbutus, thyme...). Produced from the spontaneous flora of Provence or from the harvesting of specific crops in the region, the honeys present an incredible diversity of aspects, scents and flavours. To better appreciate them, the Mouans-Sartoux Honey Festival brings together professional beekeepers eager to share their passion for one of the most emblematic products of the region.

Free entertainment all day:

This festival welcomes exclusively beekeepers: the exception to this rule is given by the lemons of Menton, local cheeses and products of the olive tree which accompany the king honey. The honey festival represents more than 30 professional beekeeping operations and five other farmers.

Organisation: City of Mouans-Sartoux and the Cultural Service in partnership with Apiculteurs en Provence :
