No health passport to enter the campsite, young people not concerned

Emmanuel Macron's announcements on 12 July 2021 have raised concerns: from 21 July, will a health pass be required to enter the campsite? Fortunately, no: families will be able to access their rental or pitch without showing their identity. Here are the questions you may still have about the new measures.

Update 17/7/2021: announcements of 19/07 for the control of the health passport at the beginning of the holidays

Update 1/3/2022: health or vaccination passes are no longer required for access to campsites in France

Initial article:

No health pass required

Your 15 year old is not yet vaccinated, you have only received one dose: good news! As an establishment, access to the campsite is not subject to the health passport (double vaccination or negative PCR test) for the summer of 2021.

Impact on campsite facilities and services

Within the grounds, what facilities and services will require a health pass to access? Shops, café, restaurant, kids/teens club, indoor swimming pools, shows, and even access to communal toilets?

The first answer is that for access to cafés and restaurants, campsites will have to follow the government's measures and check that their customers, even those living in the establishment, have a valid health pass from the beginning of August 2021.

Our young people under 18 years of age will not be affected by the requirement to present a health passport (see below) and will therefore have access to the campsite services without this constraint.

For the other services offered, the measures are not yet clear, but the sanitary passport will certainly be required for access to the swimming pool or theatres. In 2021, campsites will respect the sanitary protocol put in place in 2020 as part of the reopening of campsites.

Young people aged 12 to 17 exempted from the health pass

The Minister of Health, Olivier Véran, announced on Tuesday 13 July 2021 that young people aged between 12 and 17 will be exempt from the health pass until 31 August: good news for this public, the last to be eligible for vaccination, who have not yet had time to undergo a full vaccination. This exemption has been decided in order not to "spoil the holidays of families", in the middle of the summer season. Whether at the campsite or in the amusement parks and restaurants, our young people will be able to enjoy their holidays to the full!
